How TravellBuddy works

TravellBuddy is a ride-sharing app for people travelling the same way. Drivers share empty seats on trips they were making anyway. Passengers book a seat and share the cost.

For passengers

1. Search. Enter where you're starting, where you're going and when. TravellBuddy shows rides on your route and rides that pass near your pickup and drop-off. Filter by price, time of day, car or bike, or verified drivers only.
2. Check the ride. Each ride shows its route on a map, departure time, price per seat, seats left, the driver's rating and the vehicle, and the driver's preferences on music, smoking, pets and conversation.
3. Request a seat. Choose how many seats, request your own pickup and drop-off point along the route, and leave a note for the driver. The driver confirms your request. There is no payment in the app: the fare per seat is shown up front and you settle it with your driver.
4. Board with a scan. Once confirmed you get a boarding pass with a QR code and a 4-digit code. Your driver scans it or types the code.
5. Follow the trip. See when your driver is on the way, when they've arrived and when you're dropped off. During the trip you can see the driver's live position on the map.
6. Rate each other. After the trip, passengers and drivers rate each other.

For drivers

1. Post your trip. Add your route, time, vehicle and seats. TravellBuddy suggests a price per seat for your route and vehicle.
2. Accept requests. Review booking requests and accept the ones that fit. You can edit the ride until someone requests a seat.
3. Drive stop by stop. The app shows who to pick up, where, and who to drop off next. Passengers board by QR code or 4-digit code.
4. Get a Verified driver label. Submit your driving licence, ID and vehicle registration. Once our team approves them, passengers see the label.

You can offer rides in a car (hatchback, sedan, SUV or premium) or on a bike.
